Prehnite Palmstone

Prehnite was first described in 1788 by Colonel Hendrik von Prehn, a Dutch military officer who served in South Africa. Prehnite was named in his honour, and the mineral has been recognised for its unique properties and beauty since then. Prehnite can be found in various locations around the world, with notable deposits in addition to South Africa, including Australia, China, Germany, Scotland, France, and the United States. The mineral often occurs in association with other minerals such as epidote, calcite, and quartz.
